Vintage Galvanized Mop Bucket with Wooden Roller Wringer
Shipping calculated at checkout
A galvanized mop bucket with its original wooden roller wringer still in place — the real thing, not a reproduction. This is the bucket that lived in the corner of a farmhouse kitchen back when mopping meant a wooden handle, a bucket of hot water, and some elbow grease.
About This Piece
The oval galvanized tub has a swing bail handle and a hinged wringer frame fitted with two wooden rollers. You'd feed the mop head between the rollers and press down to squeeze the water out — the everyday laundry-day tool of the mid-century American home, long before plastic buckets took over. The galvanized surface has aged into that soft mottled grey only real zinc develops, with warm rust tones settled into the rivets and hardware.
Condition
- Good vintage condition — sturdy and sound, no holes or splits in the tub.
- Wringer intact — frame and both wooden rollers present, with the weathered, dry patina you'd expect.
- Honest age wear — mottled galvanized patina, surface rust at the hardware, and general marks from a working life.
- Mop not included — sold as the bucket and wringer only.
Why We Love It
- A decorative workhorse — plant stand, firewood tote, umbrella stand, magazine bin, or a galvanized centerpiece on a farmhouse porch.
- Genuinely vintage — the kind of patina you simply cannot fake.
- One only — a true one-of-a-kind find. When it sells, it's gone.
