What Is a Refillery? A Beginner's Guide to Refilling by the Ounce

· Emily Pepperman

If you've walked past our shop at 262 N Cherry St and wondered what those big pump jugs are all about — that's our refillery, and it's one of our favorite corners of the store. Here's how it works.

The Idea Is Simple

Instead of buying a new plastic bottle every time you run out, you bring a container — any clean bottle or jar — and fill it with exactly the amount you need. We weigh it, you pay by the ounce, and nothing goes to the landfill.

What Can You Refill?

  • Hand soap — Citrus Bliss, Honey Comb, Crystal Creek, Strawberry Lemonade, Lavender Fields
  • Body wash — Milk & Honey, Rosemary Mint, and seasonal scents
  • Shampoo & conditioner — including our Mama + Baby Safe formula for sensitive scalps
  • Laundry detergent — Lavender, Peppermint, Fresh Linen, Unscented
  • Dish soap, multi-purpose cleaner, castile soap and more

Don't Have a Bottle? No Problem

We keep refillable glass and BPA-free plastic containers in the shop — grab one on your first visit and bring it back forever after. Mason jar fans: we also carry stainless pump lids that turn any jar into a soap dispenser.

Why People Love It

  • Less waste — one bottle, refilled for years
  • Pay for what you need — try 4 oz of a new scent before committing to a full bottle
  • Simple ingredients — the same plant-based formulas we bottle ourselves
